BREAKING NEWS - Rapper Mac Miller Found Dead
Widely known to the world as Mac Miller, Malcom James McCormick has been found dead at just 26 years old. He was found in his home in San Fernando Valley on Friday according to TMZ, and the apparent cause is of an overdose.
Just last month marked the release of Malcom’s fifth album titled “Swimming” and on the album may be some inside perspective on events leading up to his death.
The pop-rap star has been on the news of recent for a car accident where he fled the scene and he was tracked to his home where he confessed. At the time he was twice the legal limit for alcohol consumption while driving and thus he was arrested for a hit and run and DUI. On the track “Self Care”, part of his latest album, fans say the lyrics speak about his perspective on this event and how it corresponds with his breakup with Pop/TV celebrity Ariana Grande and his battle with substance abuse.
“We spend our nights all liquored up, our mornings high
Can you feel it now?” - Self Care lyrics provided by Genius
Ariana and Malcom had dated for two years and many fans blame her for his turning to substance abuse but she defended herself in a thoughtful tweet which begins with “how absurd that you minimalize female self-respect and self-worth by saying someone should stay in a toxic relationship because he wrote an album about them, which btw isn’t the case (just Cinderella is ab me) I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be...” The tweet goes into a bit further details about their relationship and by the end she finished by wishing him prayers from the bottom of her heart

In a coversation with Zane Lowe and Mac Miller on Apple Music Beats 1 in July, the rapper opened up about his arrest and struggles. He explained “I have people that care about me and fans that love my music and it’s a beautiful relationship with them”, and “I made a stupid mistake. I’m a human being,”
He was planning to go on a tour soon and was assuring his fans not to worry about him. Regardless of what happened, it is shocking to both artists and fans alike, and Mac Miller will forever be a legendary name in hip hop and music.
